Izvoarele cu iubiri,
Din Muntele amintirii,
Susură cu ispitiri
Prin vraja uimirii...
The Love Springs stir reveries
From Mountain of memories ...
Whisper soft and sweet temptations,
Casting spell of love vibrations ...
De ce-ai lăsat, Doamne, sa piară
Iubirea pură, doar înmugurită ?
Apărând timid, în lumea de ispită,
S-a ofilit devreme-n Primăvară !
Why, Lord, did You let it die,
The pure love, just budding, shy ?
Springing gently in a tempting world,
It withered early, unable to take hold.
Despărțit de-a treia-a floare,
Privind trist și mut la Lună,
Mi-amintii de vrăjitoare ...
Și-mpletii din flori cunună...
I lost all fairies' love hours...
Seeing stars, Luna beneath,
Reminds me of the witch Flower,
Teaching me to braid a wreath...
”– Când Luna o să răsară
Luminând peste Pământ,
Floarea cu iubirea-i rară
O afli printr-un descânt:
"– When Luna will rise above,
Shining like a golden belle,
Your flower with rare love,
You will find casting a spell:
– Lună tu, stăpâna bolții,
Luminând ca-n paradis...
Du-mă la Regina-nopții,
La o iubire ca-n vis ! ”
– Luna you, mistress of vault,
Lighting me with your spell beam,
Take me, please, to Queen of Night,
To a love like in a dream ! "
Din descânt cu Luna bolții,
Mă simții pe-o rază tras;
Și-auzii de pe Pământ
Dulce, ispititor glas :
From the Luna's dreaming berth,
I felt drawn by a new ray ;
And I heard a voice from Earth,
A sweet, tempting voice to say:
”– Cobori de prin lumi celeste
Pe Pământ !... Și ne-om iubi...
O i u b i r e ca-n poveste,
Nicicând nu se va sfârși...
"– Descend from celestial spheres,
Down to Earth! And love you'll find;
A love like in tale of years ,
That never ends, forever kind...
Zmeule în rătăcire,
Prin vis cu stăpâna bolții,
Prea sus zbori pentru iubire,
Vin' jos la Regina - nopții !

Come to Earth, to Queen of Night !
Vino jos și înțelege,
Luna doar te-a ispitit;

De - o floare nouă vrăjit,
Mirat, ochii mi-am deschis...

I woke up from dream premonished;
By a new flower spellbound,
I opened my eyes, astonished.
Din noaptea visării
Se face lumină
Să-mi apară EA
Sub Bolta senină ¡
From the night of dreaming veil,
A new light begins to fly,
So SHE may appear to me,
Beneath the serene blue sky ¡
Din cer Luna luminează
Al i u b i r i l o r i z v o r
Când pe boltă - naintează
Cu-al ei chip s e d u c ă t o r ...
From the heavens Luna shines,
Magic source of loves untold,
When on vault she gently climbs,
With her face seducing, bold ...

1 Luna; Luna
Luna, numele latin pentru lună. Aici Luna este numele propriu al unuia dintre personajele poveștii. La fel și Soarele, cu nume propriu, este un personaj al poveștii.
Luna, the latin name for the moon. Herein Luna is a proper name of one hero of the story. Likewise, Sun, proper name too, is also a hero of the story.

4 Ursitoare; The Fates
În folclorul și mitologia românească, ursitoarele sunt trei ființe mitice care determină soarta unui nou-născut. Una ar putea dărui noroc și fericire. O alta ar putea determina durata vieții copilului. A treia ar putea încerca să echilibreze celelalte două predicții pentru a crea o viață mai armonioasă.
İn Romanian folklore and mythology, the Ursitoare are three mythical young girls who determine the fate of a newborn child. One might bestow good luck and happiness. Another might determine the length of the child's life. The third might balance the other two predictions to create a more harmonious life.
5 Sfintele din povești; Ladies of old stories
În folclorul românesc, Sfânta Miercuri, Sfânta Vineri și Sfânta Duminică sunt personificări ale zilelor săptămânii care au puteri magice.
İn Romanian folklore, Saint Wednesday, Saint Friday, and Saint Sunday are personifications of the days of the week who have magical powers.
6 Anotimpurile vieții; The life Seasons
Primăvara, Vara, Toamna, İarna (scrise cu majusculă) sunt considerate aici Anotimpurile vieții: İubirea, Rodirea, Desfrunzirea și, respectiv, Înzăpezirea.
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter (capitalized) are considered herein as life seasons of Love, Fructification, Defoliation and Snowbounding, respectively.

I was born in May, 1951, in Balta, a mountain village in Romania, a place of natural beauty. I attended high school in Turnu Severin (1966-1970), and then pursued higher education at the University of Bucharest (1970 - 1975), earning a master degree in Physical Chemistry and, later, a PhD degree in Chemistry.
Following an internship at a processing company, I embarked on a career in research and academia. I worked first as a biochemist at the Institute of Biology in Bucharest, and subsequently as a chemistry professor at the University of Bucharest (1980 -1995).
In 1995 - 2010 period, while continuing my work as a research professor, I pursued and obtained a second PhD degree, this time in Chemical Engineering, from Syracuse University. My passion for science led me to a senior research position at National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), in Boulder, CO, (2010 - 2011).
Ultimately, I transitioned from the world of scientific research to fulfill a different dream: the pursuit of poetry. Here I am... with LUNAtic LOVE.
